How this works — the honest version
AC Repair Dallas is a dispatch service, not a contracting company with its own trucks. When you call +1 (254) 256-1680, your call connects with a licensed, independent HVAC contractor serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. That contractor performs the diagnosis, quotes the repair, and does the work under their own license and insurance.
Why build it this way? Because the hardest part of AC repair in Dallas is not the repair — it is finding someone licensed, reachable and honest at 4 PM on a 103°F day when every company in the metroplex is booked out. This site exists to make that connection fast, and to give you the information — real price ranges, real diagnostic steps, real license-check instructions — to stay in control of the conversation once the technician arrives.
Licensing and insurance
Texas law requires air conditioning and refrigeration work to be performed under a TACL (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor) license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Every contractor dispatched through this service works under an active TACL license. You can verify any Texas HVAC contractor free on the TDLR website — search the company name and confirm the license class and status. We encourage you to do exactly that, and to ask the dispatcher for the servicing contractor's license number when you call.
Contractors in the dispatch network carry their own liability insurance. Ask for the certificate of insurance if you want it — a legitimate contractor produces one without friction.
What we publish — and what we refuse to
- Price ranges with sources and dates. Our cost guide aggregates national cost guides and DFW contractor pricing, labeled with when it was collected. Ranges are estimates; exact pricing follows on-site diagnosis.
- No fake reviews or ratings. You will not find invented testimonials or a manufactured star rating anywhere on this site. Ask the dispatcher for the servicing contractor's real Google or BBB profile and read actual customer reviews there.
- No invented credentials. No fake license numbers, no "20 years in business" claims, no stock-photo technicians. When the partner contractor's verified details (TACL number, years licensed per TDLR records) are finalized, they will be published here — not before.
- Honest hours. Calls are answered 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM CT, 7 days a week. We do not claim 24/7 because the line is not staffed at 3 AM — and a site that lies about that will lie about pricing too.
- Recorded calls. Calls may be recorded for quality and dispatch purposes.
Where we work
Dispatch covers Dallas proper — Oak Cliff, Lake Highlands, Preston Hollow, Uptown, Oak Lawn, Far North Dallas, Pleasant Grove, Lakewood and the rest of the city — plus Irving, Arlington, Plano, Garland, Richardson, Mesquite, Carrollton and Frisco. This is a service-area business: there is no storefront to visit, and we do not publish a fake office address. The full coverage list with ZIP codes is on the service areas page.
